Hi everyone
I'm planning to put the standard exhaust back on my 1994 ZXR. (Not happy about the "illegal" one on it, can't afford a road legal one at the mo.. blah blah...).
However it's tatty to say the least.
It's made of this funny bobbly black stuff. The white bits are where the top layer of the black stuff has come off . Sorry for the non technical terms! Link to the pic (doesn't want to imbed.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3y7hpzf8rr8h8xn/IMAG0398.jpg
Does anyone have a recommendation to make this just a bit nicer? Something like radiator paint? It doesn't need to be immaculate, just so it doesn't look too rubbish from afar
Thanks
Standard exhaust refurb

Re: Standard exhaust refurb
a good rub-down with sandpaper, then wet-and-dry, then paint...
i think its black paint thats applied to something, thats bonded to steel. someone has had an off with my bike and its definitely metal (alu or steel) under the black paint.
a new road-legal can is gonna cost you £150-£250 depending on materials/look/shape/make etc...

Thanks for your reply...
It's cool if the bobbles stay, I'm just wondering what paint/spray would cover the chipped out bits best?
Yeh, once I get some OT in I will get another SS, road legal... looks much nicer. (Or sooner depending on how rubbish the standard looks!)

Re: Standard exhaust refurb
If anyone's following
Masked the silver bits
Sanded it a bit with 1200 paper (not sure if necessary!)
A few coats of spray BBQ paint matt black, then a few more the next day.
Just hope it doesn't melt/fall off too badly...
