A Hole in my exhaust

I have a small hole at the very bottom of my exhaust (where the four pipes go in to one) I have been told its there to let moisture out. Can anyone confirm this for me please. Is it supposed to be there?

to my knowledge.....no.
if it's a 4 into one, its an after market job and i've never heard of anyone putting a hole into one.........a drain plug, yes,(a welded on nut with a bolt in it).

standard is 4 into 2 into 1 isnt it?

Definately shouldnt be a hole in it if its a standard system, as that would fail the MOT....

On closer inspection it's a rust hole and not a manufactured hole. The exhaust goes 4,2,1 so i presume thats the standard one. I will have to get it welded i think.

Cheers for the help :smt002

ZXR downpipes love to rot :(.
Welding will only work as a temp fix, it will end up blowing in another part lol.

Is a stainless pipe the best option?
