Restriction law
Right so im 19 and on a restricted license if i was to take my restrictors out after 6 months because the bike was getting abit cuddly soft and i wanted to buy it flowers. But whats the chance's of them actually checking for the restrictors i dont drive like a muppet and my bikes always legal e.g tires tax etc have any of you guys had to prove your restricted?

ok so you've removed your restrictors..............
first off your insurance is now invalid
if you have an accident it will be investigated and no matter what the circumstances you will get at the very least some of the blame oh and did I mention insurance you've not got any so no pay out for you or the other driver
The police are not stupid they will know who you are and your history and what your licence restricition are all from a computer in their lovely stripey car and thats before they talk to you bye bye licence when they catch you
When you lying in a ditch dead you might be lucky to be honoured with a Darwin award for your efforts.
Thanks to idiots like you the rest of us are hit with higher insurance premiums and even more restrictive legisation on motorcycle ownership and licencing
Oh and a final thought I work part time as a policeman and I am now obliged to report this incident I am also an admin on this site so I can access your ISP and find your address and location so even as I type the police are on their way...............announcing on a public forum that you have removed the restrictors from you bike illegally is dumb cos allsorts of people can see it including the police.................

Cargo, are you always this negative? Firstly the bike is on my drive and without me turning on that ignition they dont have a leg to stand on. Secondly im on a mobile phone at my mrs house, why you feel the need to be such a grave digger is beyond me and no its not people like me i dont drive like a silly idiot thinking im iron man, also my insurance never asked me about restriction so they cant have me done for it every thread i see on this forum you are negative towards people im guessing you got bullied in school or your lonely.

O yeh btw using your rights on this site to gain access to my personal information is illegal unless overlooked by someone else e.g at your station so youll be breaching privacy laws all over the place.

your insurance company dont need to ask about your restriction................you dont have a licence for a full power zxr400 so your insurance does NOT cover you
If the police ask for your IP address and contact details as part of an investigation then the forum owner is obliged to provide them.
It matters not if your on a moblie you still have a traceable IP
It matters not how the local police find you once they do and check your bike you are nicked
I'm not neagitive by any means but I've got just a fragment of common sense.
And you it seems are a silly little boy who should leave his bike on the driveway

Im with Cargo on this one. Being older i remember how it feels to want to drive something with 10000000 bhp!
2 years ( I think thats what it is?) will fly by, plus if you can master the zxr at 33bhp wait until you have 60bhp.
Even if you are a preacher on a sunday (who doesnt fiddle the choir boys) and are a super sensible rider you can always have toad luck.
If you were involved in an RTA, regardless of blame and your bike was investigated and you didnt have your restrictors in place your insurance would be invalid and it would instantly look bad on you. Claiming you didnt know isnt an excuse either.. your bike your duty of care to look after it and make sure it is legal.
Its really not worth it to screw up your licence... too many crap drivers on the road. Driving with no insurance etc is goign to be at least 6 points on your licence, if you don't loose it, so your premium will sky-rocket.
a 33bhp zxr will still be pleanty of fun.. rather than worrying about how much power it has, or how fast it goes keep practicing tricky stuff.. if you can learn to master the bike you will become a better rider for it.

that looks really tricky. my gpz would have the flickability, but the steering lock's rubbish.
you probably wouldn't need restictors. I bet he only used first gear the whole way round. we just insist on a certain sprocket combination, and only allow use of first gear. that would put most bikes on an even playing field - the restrictors might even help with low rang torque?
oh, and neophyst is right - lower power means you learn to make better use of it, and maintain faster corner speeds. then we you get to your first track day, you find yourself going round the outside of 750s on a little 500 twin!

I do 700 miles a week in all weathers including snow, that's roughly 35,000 miles a year, and some weekend warrior biker has the nerve to get out of his Audi at work to tell me to I was riding far too fast in the wet (over taking at 50... fast eh?).
