Just had one pass my house, heard it coming and thought it was either some american V8 (isnt it effectively half that?) or V-twin motor. Saw it zip by and it was an R1, wtf? Then realised they have that clossplane crank.
2009 R1, feck me, how good does it sound!!??

The crossplane crank is pretty ingenious, i really can't believe it hasn't been thought of before...at least i don't think it has been thought of before?
Never heard one in the flesh myself, i might go look for one at a meet somewhere lol.

That sounds amazing. Yamaha have said they are going to look into putting the crossplane crank in the R6, whether they actually do is another matter entirely though.
