yeah what rover said There should be an on/off switch for your head light on the left handlebar switch gear. Shame im not closer to you id come and have a look for you!

Just thinking it could be your starter relay thats packed up. I think its a little red box on the left hand side of the bike underneath the riders seat.

page 15-23, theres a test you can do on the relay to make sure its working properly. Best to test it before you go for a new one.
