Ok Baz - i might sound really dumb here but how do i bridge the wires without chopping the white connection @ the end off?
i could scotch lock the two? but what end of the loom you want me to scotch lock? on the wires coming from switch gear ? or somewhere else?on theother side of the loom?

get yourself a little bit or wire and bridge the ends across the connetors you want to test..................
or to put it simply stuff one end of you little bit of wire into one of the connector ends and stuff the other end into another one
Give me five minutes and you can have a picture

Sorry my dinner was ready here you go
Little bit of wire with insulation stripped off each end
And little bit of wire bridged accross two wires in a block connector...............( this is a sample block connector not the one you need to find)

Obviously if i unplug it tobridgethem red/blackwires and red and yellow ones wont be pluged in

you will need to keep them plugged in mate, try ramming the wire or a paperclip down the connectors to bridge the wires.

well i was about to check things with the multimetre i borrowed. But if you need to put one wire and one end of whatever your checking, and theother clip attheother end of whatever, how am i gonna do that on the loom or whatever if i can only ever get to one end of it?
the fella i borowed the metre off has a tool that will undo the rounded screws on the switch gear so i mightdo that as icant see how im gonna check the loom
