Can the bottoms of the forks (where the mudguard and wheel attach) be removed from the chromed part easily or is this part connected to everything else withing the forks.

The reason I ask is that I have just bought some new forks (old ones were pitted) and there is a mudguard bolt snapped in them and so I just wondered if the old ones could be used.

I hope that makes sense.

I know on the R1 you can get new stanctions fitted, not sure on the zxr though. When i stripped my zxr forks to replace the bushes and seals (right pain in the butt) the stanction went right down to almost where the hole for the wheel axle is.

They would have to be pressed in whatever though. Might be worth contacting suspension guru's such as k-tech.
