Right then lads,....excuse me for having a blonde day but how do I find out what the original paint scheme and graphics was for my zxr400? Its been sprayed full green, it looks great but im curious as to what it should be.

you may be able to find out from the chassis plate or from microfiches, what year is it?

Hi, the bike is an import on a K plate, 1993?....was'nt sure if its meant to have silver or black frame either?

mmm they introduced the black frame in 1993 i believe, i'll have a look throught the microfiches.

yeah i had a look through the microfiches, swing arm on mine does have kis-arm on, but everything else has been changed. I was under the impression it should have had a black frame too, main colours would be nice to know lol

unfortunately i don't have the original microfiche book for the L3 model as the first couple of pages would tell you the colour scheme by frame number.get in touch with your local kwak dealer they should be able to tell you.

if its got the original fairings the back of them will give it away sand through the dusty layer of yer current base and you will hopefully see the dusty layer of the original colour.

Mine was K reg as well but had the horrid silver frame not the black

i think they only released the black frames with the burgundy paintjob?

And the blue one, also a red, grey and black scheme and the bright green SP model.

The burgandy and blue came in, in 1991 and they had black frames.

The red black and grey came in in 1993.

There is another colour with a black frame in 1991 but i cant make it out as the picture is black and white I think its a black and grey colour.

Found it, its a black and blue colour!

thats what i always thought then stop doing the black frame by the L2 was about
