I KNEW IT!!! A -ING PUNCTURE!!!

I KNEW IT!!! A -ING PUNCTURE!!!

I could see the state of the roads and all the crap even before the worst of Fridays flooding.

Lo and behold, this morning the bike felt a bit squirmy. I thought maybe it was oil on the tyres (the tyres got soaked overnight in a few inches of oily water), but when I got to work straight away I could see a -ing screw in the middle of my tyre!!!

I have a spare I bought off Ebay that someone should be taking to Stealth Motorcycles now, and hopefully I'll be able to ride the bike there before the tyre dies totally. The only problem is that I'm not entirely sure this ebay tyre isn't already punctured, and Stealth don't stock any 170 section tyres...

What an absolute c-word of a start to the week. :smt013

Anyone else found the joys of the nails and sharp stones on the roads yet?

Cheers Baz!

I only work across the road and hopefully my spare tyre should do the job...

If it is punctured then I might have to leave the bike at Stealth overnight until they get me new rubber, though...

Action is about the only garage within a 20 miles radius that I've never used!

Out of all of them, the only ones I trust to touch my bike are Stealth and Dougie's in Studley.

Everyone else has fkd something up every time they've touched my bikes! :smt013

i never bother with action either, too expensive and very unhelpful.

Yes, as long as the part-worn tyre is ok, I can't say I'm too gutted about binning that Avon AV36!

Plus the tyre that's going on is another BT020 - which work so well with the bike I doubt any tyre would be better! :smt001

It was only a 2minute trundle from work to Stealth, so I've just got to wait and see if all is ok now....

I always carry a puncture repair kit with me know - quick and easy to use!
the bf rode on it for the life of the tyre (some 6000 miles) and did a Nurburgring trip with the repair (whereas i dont advise it, its possible!)
Well worth the £15 - £20 IMO :smt003

I should really carry a kit - but even if I did I'd only use the repair to get me to a new tyre. I don't think I could trust a repaired tyre.

Oh, and a bit more irony:

My mate bought the wrong size tyre last week, and is selling it to me as it was my size...

A FRONT tyre, of course! :smt013

Well I've just phoned Stealth and after a quick kick-test on the tyre, it seems to be fine, so I'll walk over and pick it up!

Thanks for the offer, Baz! :smt001
