Re: Engine sound
valve clearance is fairly simple if you good with spanners.
I dont think the valve clearance would make it chukky, not sure though.
is it jeted right?, have u made any changes to the bike, that might causing to be chuggy.

Valve clearences is a right giraffe of a job on the ZXR lolkion wrote:valve clearance is fairly simple if you good with spanners.

Done by shimms, so you have to remove the rockers, but then the frame gets in the way so it ends up being easiest to drop the engine out :smt013

Re: Engine sound
you having a laugh there mate ? the rockers slide out of the way on the rocker shaft, just slide them sideways, pop them up and hook them behind the cam lobe, then change shim, pop the rocker back, turn the engine over by hand and check clearance .. repeat for the other 15 .. agreed its not exactly "easy" and can be a laborious pain in the ass, but you dont have to remove anything.zxr_oli wrote:Valve clearences is a right giraffe of a job on the ZXR lolkion wrote:valve clearance is fairly simple if you good with spanners.

you want "fun" try doing a zx6r.. have to take the bloody cams out as there are no rockers and the shim is under the bucket which is under the cam .. grrr
