decisions decisions

Post by Fluffy »

ok just been out working on my project a bit more

she's a 1990 H2 thats seen better days :( and spent the last year in a shed... deteriorating

now i know I paid too much for it (damn ebay!) I'm doubtfull I'd get that back breaking her and am loathed to do so as I
hate seeing 400's broken! also I'm accepting that I'll probably lose money on her whatever i do if I come to sell her on

the decision has come to..
a) try and get her on the road MOT'd etc and repair exising fairings (lugs on said panels are all missing not an easy job)
respray the panels to get shot of the current toad paint work.
b) street fighter it
c) try to mate fairings from somehting else to it like the 10r or 6r conversions i've seen
d0 give up and sell it as is

tbh ebay project bikes seem to make a fair ammount. Even none runners (or missing engines all togeather) can see over 400-500 easly!

Dont fighter it you wont make the money back, and no one will want it unless done very very well!

well she runs, reluctantly and some doofus drilled out a manafold stud..... and went too far so chemical metal required to fix than!

ok wont street fighter it, i'm not a fan of them anyhow lol
toying with the newer fairings idea, can get a full set of aftermarket ones froma zx10r for £130... tempting if i can find out how much of an butt they are to fit!

No matter what fairings you get from another bike they are going to be a challenge to fit, nothings going to be 'bolt-on', so i doubt theres an easy route no matter what. If your willing to spend on aftermarket fairings for another bike, you could replace what you got with standard aftermarket fairings. that way you wont have the hassle of fitting them and they will be decent.

As for the stud, think id rather get another head....

i like that indeed. thing with streetfighters is you could do with a the bigger engines cos its better to have abit of grunt.
