Not visited this site for years!! has changed a bit!
Sadly I'm in the position where I might need to sell my beloved ZXR400L5, and I'm looking for some advice on what to ask.
The bike is in a rather unusual condition:
- It's a 1995 bike (N-reg).
- Has been sat for 3-4years, carbs were drained, battery removed and kept charged. It's been stored under cover in a reasonably warm and dry garage.
- Mileage is high: 57,000miles (UK model).
- Head gasket was done at 15, & 30 thousand miles, head was skimmed by 14Thou at 40,000 miles to correct the warp that caused the head gaskets to fail (no damage was done when these events happened).
- Clutch is worn, it's the original - was starting to slip at higher revs when I last used it.
- Camchain (replaced at around 20K IIRC), has also started to make a lot of noise, a new tensioner would correct this in the short term (it's on it's 2nd).
- Exhaust is a Scorpion race system with (battered) Remus end can.
- Rear shock is a 2nd hand OE one that has roughly 15K on it (I think).
- If it makes any difference - it was dynoed at 60.5bhp prior to the head skim.
- Its wearing '94 plastics with the stickers removed - but I have the original plastics and a 2nd set of race style ones as well. There's only one tank!
- Pillion seat has been replaced with a cowl mounted on a pillion set base (I have the actual seat, and a Renntech grabrail).

And the dyno chart (against an NC30 for reference).
