Re: are these forks cracked?
If your talking about the black line on the chrome that looks like grime to me, although funilly shaped for on the forks. Als, had they crached, id expect there would be evidence of oil having leaked onto everything underneath it, claiper wheel etc..
Why dont you ask the owner?

Re: are these forks cracked?
in reality if your handy with a spanner then it shouldnt cost you a massive amount to fix it all depends on how much he wants for it in the first place dont it.

Re: are these forks cracked?
yes that what i htought but he want about 550 and for all he telling is its a CAT B so to get it back on the road i would need a new frame (CAT B cannot be put back on raod use for spares only) ,brake disks, chain an fairing so ive decided by the time it is fixxed it would have too much spent on it so i doont think i am going to bother. thanks for reply

Re: are these forks cracked?
it WILL cost you over 500 easly once you start it. It all deepends on what you have planned for it.
if its just to put back to standard its far to expensive imo as a nice H will only go for £900 odd

Re: are these forks cracked?
na its only good for the track i would say mate. not worth a repair unless you already have the spares but even iif you do fix you will have to say it was a Cat B and i dont think anyone would be interested or you certainly wouldnt make much at all. plus i think what he is asking is abit much.

Re: are these forks cracked?
Just noticed that its class B what means:
Category B - Motorcycle itself may not be resold. Damaged beyond economical repair, usually with severe structural/frame damage. DVLA require "Notification of Destruction". Parts can be removed and sold.

Re: are these forks cracked?
I have a much better L3 bike that I'd let go for £550, and mine is only just a viable project so I'd take off rose tinted specs and walk away.

Re: are these forks cracked?
Pile o crap, walk away. Tax disc indicates that it hasn't been on road for 3 years! Has it been run up? if not, engine may well need work, carbs will be fecked, it all adds up to loads of work/greif, just not worth it IMHO
unless you like messing around a lot with things like that
I've bought much better running L models for a little over £600 on fleabay. One only needing a front wheel
Oh and not forgetting it's a Cat B write off as has already been said
