Assume 17/45 gearing 14,000rpm

SP
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th
116.23 145.95 172.02 195.39 212.49 228.48 KPH

STANDARD L

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th
99.55 141.66 179.54 214.96 236.09 255.01 KPH

Hope that helps...But I am keanly interested in weather the H model had a different set of gears?

Seeing that peak HP is at around 14,00rpm on even the best tuned motors and this gearing is as tall as I would go I reckon 255 is about as fast as one of these can go. If you give me the actual RPMs and gearing you want I will recalc for you......cheers

No not on the track, But looking at the SP gearing you would need it to get a decent top speed on the road. I just happened to have had quicker access to my charts for that gearing. cheers

As standard SPs are 16/45................ie one tooth bigger on the front........................all my race bikes have SP gearboxes and no matter the circuit they always run one tooth bigger at the front than regular L model gearboxes on bikes of similiar power.

Never even seen a 17 front sprocket for ZXR

Hi Cargo - do you ever run a 14T front or is it pretty exclusively 15T??

I got one to try out just because fronts are so cheap. I want to go to the salt flats in the next year or so and I am keen to see if I can do 260 on it........Big call but I reckon its possible.

None or the circuit I race on are slow enough to run a 14 on the front with a SP gearbox
I've used 14 on front with a normal gearbox but only at airfield type circuits..................much slower than a road race

Off the top of my head my fast ZXR pulls 16 /43 on the TT course with SP box
My not so fast one pulls 16 /45

Now that I think of it there is not really that much difference between 17/45 and 16/43.....................................it's just I've never seen a 17 front

Depending on chain length 17/45 would make the wheel base quite short certainly would on my bike.................makes it steer a little quicker but in my case it might make it a hand full on the big jumps/ wheelies :excited

H & J1 boxes I think are the same

J2 is close ratio with BTL

Just looked through my race kit and it has:

16T Afam
17T ? Looks like a throwing star with the amount of holes in it ! (But think it's a Sunstar)

40T Sunstar
41T Sunstar
42T Sunstar
43T sunstar
45T OEM never to go on again - could be used as a ships anchor shocking
46T Afam

48T Afam - that could be interesting and was what fitted on bike when I got it. i'll have a look and see what front is on when I get the cover off.

MM!
Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !
