Cost of putting a car on the road

So my coworker wanted to buy my bike for 700 since he needed a bike NOW and I figured why not less hassle as I need to sell before january anyway(move to states). I told him I'd look into putting my car on the road first. Come to find out it will be cost me around 500 just to drive it for 4 months. Insurance, MOT, and tax. So I told him I gotta keep the bike until at least Dec. So if anyone wants to buy an L4 with 28k miles let me know....errr 3-4 months from now.
