Registering Jap Import without Logbook
The only dating service i've come across are 'Roy Bacon' but can't seem to find a website, just a postal address.. anyone else know of anybody who will be able to date the bike? I know it was first reg'd 06/91 but lost the logbook before I got it registered

do you not have the registration number? frame number? don't know much about registering a bike but surely you just fill in a form with frame/reg number and DVLA do the rest?
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

Re: Registering Jap Import without Logbook
It doesn't have a Reg Number, it's never been registered in this country (fresh from Japan).. in order to register it you have to prove the year of mfg.. this is easy with the Japanese Logbook. However I don't have it anymore so you have to get a proof of age certificate from someone who's registered with the DVLA.. the triumph owners club do it for triumphs etc. (about £15 iirc)
Just wondered if anyone on here knew of anyone besides Roy Bacon.. guess i'll have to write him a letter :0

Cool
Theres a guide on how to register a grey import here...
http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Articles/Va ... mport.aspx
The bike i've got is an unmolestered L1, 13000km. Just been standing for a bit (needs a good clean and fluid change) £500.00
