*Got* Rear Shock Lock rings?
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get some lock rings for the rear shock? doesn't matter if they're anodised or not just need some as mine are beat...
I've tried looking but getting no where.
Anyone have any ideas or knowabouts?
Regards
Rich

I wanted to do this before and i know for sure you cant buy them from kwak as they are sold as part of the shock, so to get a new one you'll also need a new shock......
I just cleaned mine up best as i can, if you got the cash id say get a decent aftermarket shock.

Re: Rear Shock Lock rings?
Hi,
The shock cleaned up lovely few marks in the thread but I'm planning on cutting a v shape groove in the lock ring inside thread and putting it back on acting like a tap and die set.
I phoned Kawasaki up and the only thing they can help me with is the shock bushings and bolts
Failing that I'll have to see if anyone has a completely usless shock due to blowing seal or something and see if I can have the rings off it.
Regards
Rich
Standard mate, my lock rings got very very correded and pretty much welded itself to the shock itself. With over a weeks worth of WD40 soaking, degreaser and anything I could throw at it, it just wouldn't come off. So in the end I got so frustrated I smacked the hell out of the bottom ring with a jack bar and a 4lb hammer. I think you can imagine the damage I done to it. So it needs replacing.... whooopscargo wrote:Pray tell exactly what shock your talking about

Re: Rear Shock Lock rings?
I stripped down my H2 shock as it had a burst oil seal.
After pricing up getting it overhauled and the general shite quality of the casing I just went for used replacement .
So I've got the rings, well everything spare !
You can either have the lot for postage or just the rings - your call.
If needed in a hurry the rings will be 1,500 Yen min' by 3 day express , the whole lot don''t ask !!
If in no hurry then sea mail for the lot might be about the same. Can take upto 12 weeks to arrive though.
I'll make sure the rings are OK but IIRC they are and still have their gold anti corrosive coating on them but might of polished already
MM!
PS. Had been thinking about an Aprillia RS250 shock for the anodized ring look (Also remote is black anodized) - that bike is fookin heavy so should be well up for the job on the ZXR

Re: Rear Shock Lock rings?
The RS250 shock is a popular mod for the NC30 as it goes in with little mods. Sometimes a heavier spring is required but I should imagine it would indeed be fine for the ZXRMori Man wrote:
