Not even attempted any kind of work on the ZXR for the last couple of months. Closest ive come is oiling the chain and ignition barrel. Did have to bleed the brakes on the GF car when we got the first lot of snow a week before christmas, couldnt feel my hands after 10 mins, I inevitably got frustrated and angry cos i was cold, wet, covered in snow, my ability to feel anything diminishing and what i could feel was painful.

I have about 1 of 6 pistons in each caliper that actually move, but let's face it - It's highly unlikely that I'm going to need sharp front brakes in these conditions!

So it can bloody well wait until we're back close to double figures again...

After warming up a bit and getting my lovely wife out into the cold to help my engine is back in........................... I've got it bolted up now and started on a few of the wiring connections aong with the injectors and clutch cable back on too.................but that is enough.

So I got stuck into cutting a load of firewood..................when I get in from the gym later it'll be feet up and a large glass of whiskey beside a roaring fire

OK OK - beat this. On the drive down to N england a coupe of days ago - 11am in the morning driving past Forfar on the A90 - the temperature (with the sun out) measures -12dec C ( :ffs yep - minus 12 in the middle of the day) Now that is real cold. :smt009

Of course there is now a backlash against the Met office for not being able to predict the weather (apparently they thought it would be a mild winter) but anyone who races at Knockhill and uses the met office weather forecasts already knew that they are hopeless and wrong more often than right!!!!!

Still summers just round the corner :smt002

I swapped over my swing arm and shock the other day. So cold I couldn't feel my ratchet (sounds like a euphenism now I come to think of it)
