B&W for snow works well unless there is some striking colour in the shot.

On the auto snow setting (applies for any digital camera) mind and half press the shutter button initially - most will display a green box or dot to tell you it's in focus. What it also does is allows the camera to change settings according to conditions, some camera's have constant auto focus so even if you fully press the button it will capture an in focus shot but what it couldn't do was compensate for exposure and light level.

Once you half press the shutter button and can see the indicator then fully press. Fuji alway's seem to err towards Green so they are nice for Panoramic nature shots so you might struggle with snow as that is in the Blue channel. You can elimanate some of this using photoshop or elements to reduce the intensity of the RGB levels and make the pic's more natural looking.

I used to use fuji film for nature shots all the time but Kodak for action and portraits.

Do you find people shots that their faces are rather Pink with the Fuji ?

MM!
