Re: zxrworld members old and new speak up....
Still loitering occasionally.
ZXR's still in my garage, and will be until I can afford to do the HG (yes, I am that skint.)
Before then, I'll finish painting the garage, as I've done maybe two thirds of it, in bright, fresh white paint - like new in there is the plan. Throw out all the toad, and make it tidy, and clean.
I've got some before pictures, and will be taking some 'after' ones too - so you can see just how much crap was cleared out.
Still out of work, though I've changed my tack a little, and am now pushing in the direction of an Apprenticeship.
Finally after all this time, managed to convince myself that I'd like to go down the line of motor vehicle technician, I'm looking for either light vehicle tech or motorcycle tech apprenticeships between Calne and Bristol.
Not having a great deal of luck, latest one was a Honda dealership in Yeovil, central Bath, and they have my details for future reference.
Driving another Rover in the interrim, one that so far has cost me nothing whatsoever, which is nice.
Doing quotes for it for May, when my insurance is up though, and being that I now have no NCB, it's not looking shiny.
Cheapest quote so far is about £1,140, and that's lying my furry butt off. If I don't lie? ~£1700.
So it's looking like I'm to be a more frequent browser for the next couple of years, folks, as I might well be using the ZXR for the whole time.
That said, I got a quote from MCE, (whom I am with atm) for the ZXR the other day. 2 years' license held, 2 years NCB. 21y/o, and in an A grade Insurance Area Code. £7,352 for the year. Yuh, right.
Keep looking, methinks.

Morning all
I'll be making weekly trips to The waterman and Bassets pole over the coming months, any of you gents venture out to either of those?
Would be great to see a few more zxr's there.

Re: zxrworld members old and new speak up....
I'm always about
My crank is finished and as soon as I clear my work room I'll set it up for stripping another engine (photo thread) and with the two already done build up the tuned motor with the dynamically balanced crank
It will get an already F3 prep'd SP head with a tweak or two
along with F3 cam's and the SP barrels , box will also be SP along with clutch. i'm leaving my J2 engine in standard trim as they are now so rare - it will get a refurbishment at some point
Got two contacts now willing to make me some lovely billet casings for it so will go gen cover and clutch for now as they can be seen
Don't hold your breath on them as I've got my Ohlins front end to fit on the ZRX then I've the two engine strip / build for making a ZZR400 6 speed bottom end with ZZR600 crank and block with ZRX head build to do !
Forks may even come before tuned engine !
Apart from that my usual bling purchasing is going fine and i should be featured in another magazine end of the summer
have a good one,
MM!

Re: zxrworld members old and new speak up....
Hi all,
Been a while, i decided not to sell the H1 and slowly rebuild it. The problems with it havent been so hard to fix afterall, I read a couple of threads regarding Head Gaskets. i might be slightly retarded when asking this, but how much of a job is changing the head gasket? Also anyone know of any websites that sell them? Still looking for a new sump also.
Started a new job back working on a building site labouring, much better wages than bloody Bar work. I spend the majority of my time sleeping and bloody working lol, none the less i want to spend time fixing my bike.

Re: zxrworld members old and new speak up....
Hey guys, well at the moment both ZXR's are in the garage one is ready for getting the frame straighten and checked and the other is still in bits lol! Been buying the parts that I need to put it back on the road but not having enough time in the day to get things sorted.
Plus going in for my knee op tomorrow due to my accident before Christmas so wont be riding for at least a couple of weeks
. Hope it goes well and I'll be back racing next year. Might look to do a couple of track days later in the year to get back in the swing of things.

Re: zxrworld members old and new speak up....
hey all hows things? ive been hiding up most of the winter. now its getting better weather im hoping to get my bike rebuilt and on the road for a little while, then see about selling it around august time (im after making a kit car and need the funds/garage space). once that is done, ill see about selling my saxo and get another bike ( im hoping for another zxr400 but i know where there is a mint zx7r going for £1500...)
anything is possible with enough time and money. and an open mind...
