I think I am looking for a deal exactly matching yours. I am not interested to buy a mint bike for 400K ..... The rebuild is part of the fun for me and huge one at that. So to pay 100K for a bike I can fix even though spending probably the same money at the end as opposed to buying in better condition, is what I really want to do.

I guess going through the shops then makes no sense, because they've already laid their hands on the bikes thus trying to recover they vested cost. In another words they will not be selling 100K bike ...

I clicked on the wiki link and want to make sure that it's a typo there. It makes it look like that the bike got 6 speed tranny only when L2 came out. The manual says otherwise and I assume all Ls has had the same tranny, correct?

Thanks

That's good to know, I thought I will have to narrow down the models again .... :smt009

So Mori, do you think you might be able so source something in the lower price range?

BTW, when is the good time to buy in Japan? Do you guys go through seasons like we do here, so prices on bikes go up and down with respect to the season?

Have to say not really , more related to age than anything else.

A 3~5 yr bike isn't much cheaper than new :smt017 7~10yr is best drop but by 15yrs they are climbing back up. My H2 has risen about 90K Yen since buying , my local shop wanted 398,000 for a H1 and it was no where near as nice as mine.

400's have cult status here and there are not many ZXR4 H's on the roads - I could be the only one in this area as have seen no others and only two L's in yrs. It does draw the crowds when I park up smiler

I'll PM you a link to keep looking at for a bargain - sorry but can't keep a constant watch myself.

MM!
