Re: k-conversions
think its more of a combustion thing really so cooler air from the engine goes into the carbs but race bikes would be setup without the tubes and for warmer air intake..

Re: k-conversions
The cool air is to to feed the airbox, not cool the head. Race bikes will have an alternative method of getting cool air to the airbox/carbs, such as ram air fed from above the rad, as per the Kawasaki kit box, or even fed from a duct from the front of the fairing.masterofinsanity wrote:think its more of a combustion thing really so cooler air from the engine goes into the carbs but race bikes would be setup without the tubes and for warmer air intake..
My bike originally had the hoover pipes, much larger versions, fed straight into a modified standard airbox, and were taken from the front of the fairing. The problem with the original inlet from the tops of the fairing is that if you look at the shape of the fairing, the air would just flow over the inlets instead of being forced into them.

Re: k-conversions
Lovely, but, surely a zx6r would be a better investment? Used 3.5k. 6.5% apr, thats what, 150 a month for 36 months.
