I have to admit, that I am essentially a two-stroke guy. In my collection of low-mile, never-imported-to-the-US machines (my crown jewels are 1-mile 1985 Yamaha RZV 500, 11-mile 1992 Kawasaki KR1S, 25-mile 2002 Cagiva Mito and an awesome 141-mile 1996 Honda NSR MC28), 27 of the 35 bikes are smokers. HOWEVER, my thumpers (4-strokers for you who aren't familiar with that reference) are extremely special to me, too. Among the seven are an awesome and super clean 1992 VFR 400 Honda (4000 original miles), a 1982 Honda CX500 Turbo (13,000 miles), a 2002 Honda VTX 1800 cruiser (5500 miles) and a 1989 Honda VTR 250 (9000 miles). But the coolest four stroke of the collection just might be my 1995 Kawi ZXR400 with only 1500 original miles! So yes, I do have a ZXR 400, and I love it! Occasionally, you do see nice examples of my other four strokers, but you NEVER see a ZXR400 here. So that makes it that much more special. Now to find clean, low-mile examples of a ZXR 250, CBR 400RR and 250RR, GSXR 400 and 250 and FZR 400 and 250 to help even out the score a little between the smokers and thumpers! LOL

Very nice example, theres a couple of US guys on here now with ZXR's. Im guessing the racing scene is the cause of that over there? There were a couple of brand new L9's on ebay last year, 0 miles on each of them. Was very interested but simply didnt have the money to buy them.

Does anyone know why my bike is shorting out. The 30 AMP fuse is plowing as soon as i connect the battery. The green neutral light was flickering and playing up. Would it be the ciruit board or something?

Hi

I do not have one yet. I sent a mail to Germany on friday or was it saturday. Maybe I have one in a couple of months or more.

I want a as new as I can get it. I can't figure out what the major engine upgrade was. I see that I had that question many years ago too. I would want a 98 or newer.

I am 37 or was it 38 who knows. I have had my license since 1989. I have gone from a GPZ600R to a ZXR750. Then to a ZX9R which I lost my license on for 3 months. I see that I have posted here about that back in 2005. Then I sold the ZX9R as I was just too "throttlehappy". I bought a pure racebike instead.

Now I am back to the orginal plan of getting a ZXR400. I think it will give me the thrills I want at a lower speed,

Great to be here.

Hi

I see that I posted back in april 2009 in this thread. I was not yet a owner. I am now. It took about 4 months until I got myself one. In july 2009 I became a owner.

I am very pleased with the bike. It was expencive though. I could have bought a ZX6-R instead. But that was not the point. I do not have the ability that I had when the picture below was taken

Image

I have been driving the ZXR400 for quite some time before winter got us here. I have enjoyed every km of the ride. It does what I wanted it to do. Have fun at a much lower speed. I see that damn now I go fast. Then I look at the speedo and I am 30 km/h below the speed I thought I had. That was the point.

I have seen very few 400's. The ZXR I now have is the second one I have ever seen.
