Well I wouldn't recommend starting a bike with bent valves - so you can rule that one out lol!
On mine I had a spate of problems to do with the 30A fuse on the starter solenoid. Have a check of that - mine was leaving a tiny bit of blackness on the blade which meant the rev counter went apeshit and it cut out almost as if it was out of fuel, and then would start again if you left it for a while. Changes fuses was a temporary fix, but I replaced the whole starter solenoid/fuse unit in the end to fix it...

I remember back last summer in the brief period when my bike worked, I had a similar problem. Riding home from work (good 20 miles) so bike was nice and warm, stopped in Yarm to get some cash and then the bike just would not start. Turned over ok, but wouldn't fire despite trying everything I could think of. In the end I phoned the missus to bring jump leads and a rope as I'd flattened the battery trying to start it, jumped it off her car and it started first time. Never got to the bottom of it so would be interested to see the responses here as the last thing I want is to get stuck somewhere on the moors!!

That sounds like the hot starting problem we commonly hear about!beermaker wrote:I remember back last summer in the brief period when my bike worked, I had a similar problem. oooh, not come across this problem before. Is there a cure or some way to make the bugger start when you're stuck in Whitby?

Re: Bike cut out and wont start then next day it started help
Small update stripped the bike down and the noise im hearing like a rattling is coming from the starter motor/alternator. I striped the starter of and oiled it up and put it back started first time and then after it would not have any of it the lovly rattling sound again but When I kept hitting the start button quickly over and over it would run so Ive got a replacment starter on the way so Im hoping this will help. Alos quick note when i try and start it the head light and rear light dont come on so I suspect its along the lines of starter and alternator. if anyone has had the same problem let me know but ill update once ive tryed this lol.
