hey guys i was looking for a single seater tail unit but when i found them on ARD racing and so on, i thought to myself is £210 for some black plastic with some leds cut into it really worth it?
So i decided why not make a tail unit myself then i can get it exactley how i want it to look as well.
So the only thing i really need to know now is if any of you guys have any advise on materials?
I have some fiberglass matting and some resin so thats all good to go, but i need to make a mould and thats the hard bit.
I read in one of the my build posts that a guy used building foam, is that the high expansion orange stuff? i was thinking of using good old plaster of paris, but then wondered about the weight. With the building foam you would have to coat the desired unit in foam and wait till set then cut or just pull the foam off and put filler on the inside of the mould to get a smooth finish. Whereas with the plaster of paris you can lay it over the unit then pull or cut it off when dry and just sand the inside down untill smooth then you are ready for fiberglassing.
Big decisions eh? if anyone has any experience please let me know, when i start doing it i will put some piccies and a how to guide up on the site so other people can get customising.

Why are women like hoovers?
When they stop sucking just get them a new bag.
