Master Cylinder

Post by carsounds_dan »

Hi,
looking to upgrade the brakes on the ZXR, was gunna do the master cylinder first then upgrade the calipers
so what master cylinders do people usually upgrade to? what works well and what will work with upgraded calipers?
im looking for something cheap and easily available from breakers
cheers

I dont mean to sound all preachy, but there shouldnt really be the words 'cheap' and 'brakes' in the same sentence.

In answer to your question though...
I suppose its all down to how hard you ride, if you ride hard and like to brake then I would say that a brembo m/c will be all that you need (buy it once, buy it right). But if you dont ride hard (no point having a sports bike) then something like a zxr750 m/c should be fine, failing that rebuild the standard m/c.

would have said the zxr750 would be almost as good as the brembo one. And theres no way youd gain any benafits from the extra cost on the road apart from it looking better.
