front paddock stand issues

Post by jake »

Does anybody use the front stands that go into the hole under the forks? i have two set of forks, h1, and h2sp, and the hole is out of line on right leg on both sets.....the hole is off center, so stand pushes against one of the pinch bolts when in place.no good.

Is this just my forks, or a general kawasaki fckup?

can anybody recommend an under yoke stand?

not sure about the holes supposed to being out of line, wouldn't have thought so! i made my own paddock stand for under the forks years ago, like you say the only problem is if you wanna get to the pinch bolts they are usually blocked by the stand, i have a under the yoke stand now which are great but watch it cos when you lift the bike they can catch on the fairing and crack it can't they Gem?

its weird tho init, cos the left hand lug fits inbetween the 2 pinch bolts no probs, the pinch bolt spacing is the same on the right, why not make the hole in the center on the right too, so it clears both pinch bolts... :smt012

if ya wanna take the front wheel off, which quite often you do with a front stand!, ya gotta remember to take out the right hand pinch bolts first, its just to much for my wee brain
