going to look at a new toy

hey chaps iam going to have a look at a kx250 on saturday best thing is its road leagal 12 months t and t just had new chain and sprockets and new tyres and just had the frame powder coated green its in the local admag 4 800 quid and had a quote 4 the insurance 65 quid ha ha how cool is that . the idea was to just have a crosser for off road to keep cost down really but a that price how can i say no and i aint gonner have to bother hauling it in to a van every outing.will keep you posted and have some pics if i get it

well i didnt end up with the kx he sold the bike to some one else wasnt that botherd didnt really want one on the road so ive now got a 1996 rm 250 its very quick alltho i havent been on it yet probably not the best thing to do when buying a bike but you cant really test ride a full off road bike on the road ive seen it running and the bloke had a quick blast up and down the road on it it sounded great heres a pic will get some more up 2 moz

Are you sure thats a 96 model? It looks identical to the 1990 model i had years ago!!

not sure really mate its had a new graphics kit recently it could just be an old kit if you know what i mean lol its got drz front forks now tho how do i check what year it is do you know

Phone suzuki with the frame and engine numbers and they will be able to tell you.

ive been tidying the bike up over the last few days few stickers off ebay new bar pad and new fork protectors off a kx theses are but with a trim and rivet gun they now fit the rm sweet. put the carb on properly with hose clips and put the air box on properly. put a new valve in the front tyre there wasnt any air in it at all and the valve was bent wouldnt let any air in at all dont you just love cheap fixes lol.i checked the gear box oil and couldnt see any turned the engine over buy hand (kick start)to see if any of the cogs where coverd in oil and still didnt see any oil so i dumped the oil from the sump and probably got 50ml ish drop out witch aint good but it wasnt that bad just black would have been worried if it was metallic but it wasnt must have been lucky so ive toped her up with the rite amount of oil 650 ml and the bottom end sounds loads better now still havent had a proper blast out on it yet havent had it out of 3rd gear yet but still thats mad enough . oh yeah has any one noticed the freakyish weather lately ive been workin out side @ gone 8 at nite in a t shirt and its so mild for this time of yeah i aint moanin tho

don't really think he cares man. I want a road going crosser for hoooning about on, its just money money money though, and being in college isn't the way to make any.

yeah mate you was right its an 1991 rmx250 well thats what i think ive had the frame number checked out and can only work out from that that is an rmx the guy said its an import so the rest of the vin number dont add up some how.so ive been studying pics of rmxs all day and 99.9% sure its a 1991.just hope to god lol because ive just spent $150 on a piston kit gaskets and small end bearing will find out when it gets here. oh yeah heres a pic of the one i found 2 day tell me what you guys think see if its a match with my pic above thnks kev

thought it was i got 93 rmx good bikes quick enough for off road not as fierce as a full on crosser,more useable power and less maintenance
