That Could Have Been So Much Cooler!

Post by Jamz »

There's a set of traffic lights that catches me most mornings, and so I filter to the front of the traffic queue and nail it when the lights turn green.

Hell, it wakes me up just before work!

This morning, the lights were on red as I approached, so filtered through and the lights changed just as I got to the front, rolling at around 10mph.

I gave it a big handful of throttle, dropping the clutch, and hoisted the front up into a huge great big minging wheelie!

I was quite impressed, and I'm sure all the cars behind were, too!

Err... or they WOULD have been, were it not for me doing some sort of little gay star jump, feet coming off the pegs and snapping the throttle closed as fast as I could before the bike landed on my head.

Doh!

Have you ever done something and then thought to yourself, "That could have been so much cooler"?

I should have held that baby all the way down the three-lane carriageway to the cresting knee-down sliproad bit, and I would have spent the rest of the week strolling around like my cock was two foot long and I'd just knocked the granny out of The Queen!

But ohhh no! Little gay star jump and the front slamming down, then a qaurter mile of very pointedly not looking back in my mirrors it was.

giraffe.

im slowly learning how to wheelie (about time really!) first few times you lift the front it really dos scare the sh*t out of you! try just going 30 odd in first gear pull the clutch in aclerate VERY lightly and drop the clutch, once you get used to the OH FU*K moment there quite easy to control

Don't get me wrong - I've wheelied away from the lights loads of times before, but I didn't like this one!

Well, no - I did! :smt003

It wasn't out of control at all, I just panicked!

That's why it's such a pisser! :smt003

iv had a couple of moments come through some lights (on the CBR) an there was a little hill in the city centre obviously bein at the crown of the hill front came up as i flew past cars waiting for the lights to change only thing is i shat me leathers an put 1 foot down to steady myself. GAY confirmation came from me mate who was behind, he said that looked awsome until you put your foot down. :smt010
another was me at an island when i hit the front brake in an emergancy an done an awsome endo (this was on the ZXR) i brought it up released the front a tad so i rolled with it about half a meter then set it down an feet to the floor. PROBLEM, i had to do it cos some twonk went round the island on the outside so me stopping so readily ment all the other cars had to, i shot off an didnt look back at the reactions. biggrin

I also remember when I first started out on my trusty Yamaha TZR125...

Turning right at a junction, there were a load of kids playing at the side of the road all looking and motioning for me to give it some.

I did.

Lots of two-stroke smoke, back wheel snaking around as I tank-slapped halfway down the road, feet slapping on the road like a demented penguin until finally it all came back in line without me falling off!

uhhh... I think I've been blocking that memory for the last 7 years...

I still remember how hard it was to ride off with numb feet to the sounds of Um Plenty Big Laughter...
