Water in bowls. ( again )
Morning all. simple. bike was running fine the last few weeks ( the odd spluttering when accelerating ) but yesterday it would rev fine but when i got on it and rode it, if i gave it a handful it would slutter and not pick up. if i gradually applied throttle it would gather speed as per normal. thought the airbox had split and the screws came out but no. i thought id drain the bowls and 2 and 4 had water in them. weird. the other two had a mixture of petrol and water. im gonna drain the pump too and see if that helps. question is, how the hell is it getting in there? is it the fuel cap letting water in. bearing in mind its been pet-sealed before i sent it to be resprayed , so was sealed and dry when i used it. it stays outside now ( before it was in the garage ) so im thinking all this crap weather is getting in the tank?

is the little hole on the fuel cap blocked and water is draining into the tank?

mine drain pipe has a hole in it, hence when it rains the water goes down the pipe and into the tank, then sits in the bottom. Doesn't tend to matter unless i have to use reserve. Had you gone on to reserve when you noticed it running toad?
These things are sent to try us!!

It could be good old condensation i guess. In which case youll need to leave it somewhere warm. Might be an idea to check the airbox drain pipe. Not sure where it is on the H model but there should be a pipe that drains out any water from the airbox, it has a bung in the end of it and youll need to take the bung out to drain any water. It has a bung in it so you arent sucking in un filtered air but traps any water that runs to the bottom of the airbox.

pour a load of water on top of the tank and see if it drains out the back, there should be a drain pipe attached to the tank that exits somewhere down the rhs by the swinger.
