Gearing

Post by RussZXR »

Hi,
As I'm not going to use the 130mph the bike is capable of around where I live I am looking at upping the acceleration by changing the sprokets front and back. Has anyone already done this and found a good setup? save me sodding about experimenting.
Thanks

do 2 searches, 1 for tooth and another for sprocket and you will see previous threads on this subject.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

renthal do every size imaginable and are probably one of *the* names for sprockets.

they crop up on ebay brand new sometimes. I just got a 47T rear for about 60% of the retail price. wanted a 49T but got outbid in the last 2 seconds :smt009 . I'll go for a 14T rather than 15T on the front now.
In the garage:
Kawasaki ZXR400 L3 - shiny
Suzuki DR800 - bouncy
1978 Suzuki GS400 - PROJECT RETRO RACER!
Kawasaki GPz500S - for sale soon
Honda CG125 BR-J - in bits
