Weird Spark Plug Firing?

Post by diesel »

Ok. simple. checking my firing etc and wondering why the bike runs like a sack of toad i decided to take all the plugs out and lay em on the head and check for old sparky. one wasnt working. so i swapped plugs and the same plug still wasnt working. after closer inspection it is firing but not at the tip. its very faint and its around the ceramic top. it doesnt get to the electrodes, just dances around the ceramic nose?

and ideas guys?

both spark plugs are shagged? have you swapped the plug for one you know is giving a good spark?

new plug eh ?

take it back to where you got it ..

i bought 3 sets of duff cr9e-k's year before last, some did what yours is doing, couple had cracked ceramic's, 1 or two didnt fire at all..

luckily i got them from a place that knew me, and they'd had other complaints too, so they replaced them all and chucked them in a box marked "throw at rep and shout"

i've found that knackered brand new plugs are more common than most people think, the denial some people will go through because it's brand new plug is pretty funny. Good to see you dont have the same hangups as some muppets i have to talk to around my town, it's not even as if 3 or 4 quid for a plug is an exhorbitant amount of cash either lol.

The trouble with having an open mind, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
