Re: zx4 engine swap
yep, it'll bolt straight up
however,
essential;
spin the thermostat housing 180 degree's
swap the ignition rotor for a zxr one
optional;
swap the ZX4 camchain tensioner for a zxr one as ZX4 ones suck, a lot
maybe use a zxr sump and oil pickup so you can use an oil cooler

Ok got the engine in and just going to use the zx4 rad so is it still necessary to turn the thermostat housing and change the ignition rotor,if so why?

Re: zx4 engine swap
the zx4 rad is small, and pants .. use the L one .. dont think there's space to run the piping the way it does on a ZX4 (or an H for that matter) with the L frame anyway.
the ignition rotor has to match the ignition box (cdi) and loom.. as long as it does, you're fine.
zx4 parts
ignition unit (cdi) = 21119-1245
rotor = err.. has lots of lobes on it.
ZXR parts
ignition unit (cdi) = 21119-"1296/1291/1331/1332/1354/etc"
rotor = 1189 ? (3 small lobes, one large one)
the ZX4 loom has more stuff in it than you need (hazard lights, fuel gauge etc), and is missing other bits (like twin headlight wiring) and could be a pain in the butt further down the line.. plus it wont fit neatly or reach stuff nicely without weird routing..
i'd try and get an L loom and ignition components from somewhere tbh.
