Cam Caps
While taking off the four covers from the cam shaft, one of them decided to crack. I've spoken to Cradley on the phone but they said they're precision machined to each head and that it's impossible to order them new. This must have happened to people before, what's the best thing to do? Cheers, Tim

Re: Cam Caps
cradley are correct.
it has happened before.. some have just fitted another one and crossed their fingers ..
exactly how well this approach works is up to the gods tbh.
get some measure evrything.. check again.. try it ..
it might work, it might eat the cam and head.

Re: Cam Caps
Get your self a flex hone to go in a drill, fit another cap and run the flex hone in and out about 20 strokes for around 40secs, wash the head out, rebuild it and it will be fine, the cam should turn easliy with no valves in the head, if it doesnt hone it a little bit more until it does.
The hones arer available from J&L INDUSTRIAL.
Hope that helps, Rich

Re: Cam Caps
That's brilliant thank you Rich!
My next question is if anyone has one lying around!?
Would it be more sensible to just replace the broken cap or to replace all 4?

Re: Cam Caps
No dont change all 4, the 3 you have are already matched to the head, they must stay, you only change the broken 1 and hone that!!

Re: Cam Caps
That's what I thought, awesome.

Re: Cam Caps
