cylinder numbers from left to right 1-2-3-4 firing order from left to right 1-2-4-3

Is there anything such as a straight answer anymore???
As i understand it, if you are sitting on the bike, cylinder number 1 is on the left. then 2, 3 and 4 as you go right.

you - posted a wiring diagram and said "hope this helps"
i said "no it doesn't really"
which is true. nothing in there tells you the cylinders are numbered left to right - it implies it, and common sense would say that, but I wouldn't take either as a guarantee that they are.
and i live nowhere near Sneinton.
