its shows you in more detail in the h manual in how to check them but think the L manual states the sizes too!

Re: valve clearances
Might it be worth posting a Stickie thread in the Having Problems forum in nice bold letting advising people to check the manuals (and a link to them) before starting a thread?
At least 5 threads in the last two weeks have contained the lines 'its in the manual'.
Just a thought anyway.

Re: valve clearances
How come more bikes don't use hydraulic tappets anyway?
Just sheer revs?

Re: valve clearances
yer its the revs, the hydraulic tappets are quite complex really, its some precise machining that allows it to bleed away just enough oil to stop the valve's burning and still retains enough to keep the lash as effectively close to 0 as possible. Shame really hydraulic tappets are fantastic for plodding engines.
I guess if the oil pump was electrically driven at constant speed then it would make it a more real prospect because the oil volume and pressure would be stabilized. Personally I hate shims, infact I hate valves and 16 of them is just plain labour. I look back now at the two stroke singles and despite their many faults think 'god it was easy to work on'.
