ZX6R F1 shock to replace stock on L3?
Just bought a L3 ZXR400 and the rear shock looks like it's in a right state, on top of that I've heard they're pretty crap anyway. As it's my first bigger bike I'd like as good as I can get in terms of suspension. I've read some ZX6 shocks fit, is the F1 a direct bolt on replacement? I've read a few people saying they're longer than the stock shock, is this going to cause problems? Any other models/years that have a direct bolt on replacement? Don't really want to have to be hacking bits off to get something to fit, but don't have £500 for a race shock. Cheers.

From memory you need a couple of spacers on one of the mounts, possibly both but it's no big deal. I've got one I'm sticking on the track bike at some point so if I get chance I'll dig it out and have a look.
On my road bike if put a hyperpro shock on and it's night and day with the old standard shock. They can be picked up for under 400 quid or least they could when I got mine.
