Am looking for a decent shock on my ZXR that will make a world of difference to my handling.
I dont have the money to buy maxton or ohlins so anyone know of any others that should fit straight in? or i wudnt have a problem modding it.

Alternate Shocks for an L3?
If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

Re: Alternate Shocks for an L3?
best thing to do is get it off and measure it then scour ebay for a similar shock asking questions b4 buying.I put a 2005 R1 shock in my 1987 gsxr1100 with shaving a couple of mm off the eyes, it can be done if you find the right shock.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

Sorted i'll get on it.
Got the wheels out atm anyway as theyre getting powdercoated n having new tyres fitted so i can get at it easily.

I think the cheapest new one I found, specifically for the zxr was hagon. Still around £200-£300 iirc.

Re: Alternate Shocks for an L3?
I have a K9 Gixxer 750 rear shock on mine, but it did take some small mods to get it to fit. Anything that has a piggyback resevoir on it will need the subframe modding. The battery tray support bar needs cutting off and moving back other wise it won't clear.

Re: Alternate Shocks for an L3?
Apart from GSXrs, has anybody any idea of which stock shock can fit the bike with minor work on it?
I did put a Gsxr1000 shock into my Rf900R and it's great. Its a bit longer than stock, but that's even better.
Now Id like to find something similar for the ZXR4. Problem is Gsxr600 has piggy back can.
