LED indicator problem

Post by Lee »

I am experiencing a strange problem with some LED indicators and hope some of you may know the answer. I have replaced all four standard indicators with the new ones and put in a new relay to sort the flash rate which it does fine but when i signal left or right all four lights come on!
When i put two standard ones back on with two LED ones, the right and left works as normal :smt017

Is this something to do with the current load or resistance? Im not to clued up when it comes to electrics so i need some advice.

Thanks in advance.

the last time i bought a set of led indicators the guy told me i'd need a set of additional resistors, 1 for each indicator. i just connected the resistors in parallel across the indicator wires, they worked fine. dont no what size resistors they are but could find out for you, although im not sure if different indicators need different resistor values.

sorted it guys :smt001

I just so happened to have these in line resistor wires which i first thought were only extensions to lenghten the wires but they have a resistor in the middle so i put two resistors on the rear two indicators and it now works a treat. I dont know what rating they are or anything like that in case anyone else happens to have the same problem.
