yellow cdi sticker

ive been looking at the posts that have been put on about cdi's
ive just looked at mine and it has a yellow sticker on with the letter 'v' on it,
any ideas?

hi. what year bike is it? is it an import? and what numbers are on it?
is the box the size of a cigarette packet, or a lot bigger? is it made by nippon denso or mitsubishi?

my zxr is an import and has a yellow sticker on he CDI, so what do you want ideas on? :lol:

With that in mind tho, its more than likely restricted.

jap import restricted L box .. L4 ?

180 kph speed restrictor, 14,500rpm rev limiter.

Hi There!

my first post! ;-)

My CDI unit has a yellow label with 'v' on it and my bike tops out at 14,500 - 16,000rpm. therefore not restricted.

Welcome to the forum sammy.

You must have a derestrictor in that case! :smt001 Or you have a converter for the cable.

or most likely, the rev gauge is inaccurate

from 10K to 14.5k rover? Thats a massive misreading.

he doesnt say when it does top out though, only gives a range.

Either way, thats still alot considering the redline is 14.5k...

Mine will go in to the red which is between 14,500 and 16,000 obviously i dont want to blow thye engine so i try not to.

oops, sorry.

you wont blow the engine, thats why it has a limiter.
