That depends exactly what ZXR you have. If you give us the model someone will be able to answer. Also give us the full numbers and letters shown on the CDI units, as there are different CDIs for different models, and different CDIs for restricted and derestricted bikes. :smt001

The CDI needs to match the loom - assuming you bought the correct loom for the model of ZXR you have :smt002
ZXR400 L4, purple / black / pink
Hel braided hoses
Pirelli Diablos
Ohlins steering damper
A16 carbon fibre exhaust can
Nitron Sport shock

Hi
My bike is a 1992 zxr400 L2 the wiring loom that is on it at the moment isn't correct the one i have bought has the code 26030-1083-B
My husband has checked the microfilm and it is definately from an L model but not sure which one, the CDI's i have that are broken have the following codes. 21119-1332 M & 21119-1331 L
Is this new wiring loom going to be ok for the bike and what CDI should i look for to go with it?
Thanks

Hi Gem,

Your loom is finished and NLA , your 1332 CDI is from a L1 and still available - this should work fine with your loom as any L model CDI. The 1331 is also finished & NLA (No Longer Available)

If the CDI are indeed knacked then either an import or UK L model CDI will work - one will give you a speed restriction ( Import) and the other not.

BTW, from past experience - unless you have electrical compnents tested by Kawasaki electrical testing tools you will not get proper readings.

It's been too long to remember why but the calibration on their testing tools is different from over the counter stuff - when the windings on my GPz failed I had them checked by a Kwack dealer with Kwack tools as my Halfords unit wasn't even close to being right.

It all worked out OK and a chaffed wire entering the casing turned out to be the culprit ( hidden at the back ) - that was a three week ball ache with petrol . matches & insurance claim iminent :smt013

I'd tend to agree with MM re testing.....................stick the CDI into a bike thats a runner and see if it still runs.............best test going IMHO
