Hi fellow ZXR'ers.
Having problems keeping a full charge in my battery. When I put it on Optimate III it charges and tests and says battery is OK, after starting the bike a few times during a ride out it gets really sluggish at starting, sometimes I have to give it a push....boo! very embarrasing. I took the bike to the local electrical specialist and he says the bike is only showing about 12.6V whilst being reved and this should be 13-14V. He suggested trying a regulator/rectifier before getting into taking the alternator apart.
Where is regulator/rectifier located on the bike and wheres the best place to buy one?
Any one else had charging problems?

reg/rec is situated under the riders seat, you may have to remove the rear plastics to get to it, email fallsoffslowly i'm sure he'll have a spare or 2.

Re: Battery Not Charging
I removed the side panels and managed to remove the rectifier, someone suggested taking the voltage readings off the 6 wires going into the rectifier to see if the output from the stator plate is ok. Looks like 3 yellow ones a brown one a white one and a black and yellow one. Voltages didn't read very high, definately not anywhere near 12V. Anyone got a wiring diaghram or know what these voltages should be on one that charges ok?
