Ignition Issues
Evening all, having problems hope you might of come across.
Bike no longer turns over, well starts anyway. GOt it in bits now, got 12v going to ignitor from ignition block, everything looks ok to me. My question is how does this ignition shut the bike off? I got the feeling that somehow the ignition switch is stuck to earth, is this possible

Re: Ignition Issues
Just been reading about, anyone any ideas about the Ignition anti theft circuit? Could this fail in anyway that will not allow it to run but yet turn over?

Turns over fine, just not enough going to the coils

Re: Ignition Issues
tried that as first call. I thinking along the lines of the ignition switch as i had problems earlier when turning it on, it did the same as it is doing now, although i could "wiggle" it about and off she went

Re: Ignition Issues
Thats £40 of expense that i dont want to have to do unless nessecary. My question is how does the anti theft device work, what does it kick out with out the resistor and with the resistor etc

Re: Ignition Issues
open the switch, cut the resistor out and splice it into the loom next to the cdi ?

Could the resistor just be removed?

Re: Ignition Issues
no, it must be present in order for the bike to fire.
if there's a loose connection to it, or its missing, the bike will turn over but have no spark.

Re: Ignition Issues
Im sure a few here have had this problem before, what reminded me was the 'wiggling the key' bit. AFAIK they barrel was replaced which solved the problem.
