Idle Speed Control Help!!!

Post by mxj560 »

Hi guys

I have just bought a zxr400 L2 (i'm not really sure how to put pictures up, i would have done if i did.) and am in the process of giving it the thorough once over.

It seems to me that it is idling a little slowly and want to raise the speed a little bit. I am having a little trouble finding the idle speed controller though. I have read somewhere that the control is on the right hand side near the seat, but i really can't find it.

Any help/pointers would be really appreciated, im pretty sure that im being retarded but hey, if you don't ask!!

Thanks

Matt

there is an idle adjuster on the right hand side of the bike as your sitting on it, it comes out just above the engine casing by the coolant bottle, it doesnt come out far and may be tucked inside the fairing just have a look around it should be there somewhere.

it may have been removed altogether hence the reason its idling too low, you will have to bodge it with a screw for the timebeing until you can replace it.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

Thanks for the help guys, have finally found it tonight.

I had to remove the expansion tank and feel around behind where it was, and there it was! I have made sure that it doesn't get stuck behind there again!

Thanks again!!
