Basically my bike starts fine everytime from cold in the morning and afternoon all the way through winter. However, if i try and start her up before giving her chance to cool down, it turns over very slowly and is just generally a hassle to start. This sometimes results in a flat battery and a bump start (luckily today the petrol station led onto a slight hill!! Other times i have been less lucky). The battery charges itself up on the rest of the ride and starts absolutely fine the next morning!
What could be causing this - I need to get this sorted really as I don't have time to let the bike cool down every time i stop!! lol
Especially on summer rideouts, i'l look a dick bump starting it every time!!
Hot start problems!!

Yeah, new battery first. I'd have a look at the plugs as regard to the hot start problem. Has it always done this or only recently?

yer defo check the batt, the plugs wont make it turn over slowly though, i would think battery, then possibly a lazy starter motor once batterys been changed

Yea i do think it's time for a new battery. And it has done this the whole time i've had it, which hasnt bin all that long.
The plugs are nearly new....so yea i'l start on the battery then the starter motor, what batteries would you suggest??

Re: Hot start problems!!
Ive got an 'Easy Start' battery in mine, was about 35 quid delivered, come very quickly and has been working solidly over the last few months. Check out ebay theres a fair few on there to be had for not too much money.
YTX9-BS i beleieve is the battery number that you need.

Re: Hot start problems!!
had a very similar problem with mine and got it fixed just before the next problem has occurred. With mine it wasnt the battery which was the problem but they rectifier, it wasn't that the bike was hot that was being the problem it was that when ever I got to a destination the battery had never been charged throughout the journey. It's worth just droppin a volt meter on the battery and seein if it charges. A new rectifier solved the problem for mine this week, just a bloody shame bike not workin again due to other problems! Anyway hope ya have some luck with it.

Re: Hot start problems!!
Hi,
Defiantly check the battery or even replace it, but the hot starting problems is defiantly the spark plugs. My bro had this problem and so did 1 of my close mates, changed them with IX plugs (iridium's) they're on ebay for about 30 notes delivered. They haven't had any problems since.
Regards
Rich
