Accelerate hard then cuts out

hi guys,

'92 L2, 24000 miles, just put everything back together having lapped valves + done clearances, new head gasket, balanced carbs, new spark plugs (ngk iridium), new cam chain tensioner...

started nicely, slight flat spot at 4k as before but not too bothered about that to be honest...

problem is that when i pull the clutch in having accelerated hard-ish(up to about 8k) engine just cuts out. drop it down a gear or two and drop the clutch and comes back in ok. if clutch pulled in from lower revs doesn't have same problem

any ideas would be greatly appreciated, taken a long time to try and get stuff sorted and as soon as one thing's fixed seems like another goes wrong!

have the carbs had any work done to them? Or have they been sat while the engine has been done? Could be gummed up carbs especially if they havent been emptied of fuel.

What about if you wind it all the way out to redline...what does it do then....???
