Re: Just bought a zxr400
yeah welcome to the forum, is it the one that was advertised on here?
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

Re: Just bought a zxr400
Sorry for the late reply. No, wasn't advertised anywhere. I work as a mechanic for a independent dealer/rider training school and it belonged to one of our instructors. He got it as a trackday bike but lost interest and it's been sat in the back of one of our containers for the last 12 months.
It's an L model but Q-plated in 1994. Front end was replaced fairly recently with forks from a 2001 bike though the seals need replacing. Sale also included an unused, genuine Kawasaki downpipes to replace the rotten originals.

Re: Just bought a zxr400
Just a little update on this. Sadly due to various work commitments, I don't have the time to ride it, let alone work on it so I've decided to sell it to someone who will.
Obviously there's no tax or test as I haven't found the time to work on it. It does run and ride, however I believe the yokes are damaged and one of the lock stops has been broken off. As I've said, the forks were replaced recently with those from a 2001 bike. They appear to be straight though I haven't found time to replace the seals yet. The clutch is very rattly which I've heard is nothing unusual, otherwise the engine runs well. The fairing is a bit ropey, could do with some plastic welding and repainting but this is a project bike after all.
The Q-plate status is due to the bike being "Assembled from parts" which is stated on the V5 and I'm happy to discuss this with anyone serious about buying it. I've been brutally honest with my description but please feel free to ask any questions.
As masterofinsanity said, the downpipes are worth £500 plus on there own, however the bike is taking up much needed space in one of our containers so I'm happy to let it go for what it owes me, which is £275.
Due to lack of time/space, the bike is for sale complete and I'm not interested in selling individual items. The bike is located in County Durham in Northeast England. Unfortunately, I am unable to deliver.
Thanks for reading
