Hi all,
Just a hello to you all. I've recently bought a zxr 400 and found this forum, seems a nice place.
When I got the bike it needed a bit of TLC but I really like it.
It didn't cost much and is cheap to insure and tax.
My previous bikes were a 2010 Triumph Bonneville which I hated, prior to that I had a 2010 Yamaha R6 liked it but just too fast and had a high seat (short ass).
I sold both to free up some money, as I didn't like having that much cash tied up in a bike I only used occasionally.
I'm based on the Wirral so get out to North Wales every chance I can, most excellent roads.
Happy Days
Duncan

Bloody wools.....
I'm a southerner who has live on the right side of the Mersey for over 16yrs.
I love the darker colour zxr's, they do seem bit less "lairy" than the green/white/green.
Hope to see you on out and about
Addition:- The Canon EOS 350D is a cracking camera.

Hi all,
thanks for the welcome.
The bike is an L2 1992, imported here in 2000.
After a most excellent taster around Oulton Park I managed to blow the head gasket, though it was on the way out anyhow.
So engine out and on the kitchen table last week. Fitted new gasket and all back together, go to check shims/clearance only to find one missing
Hunted high and low until it turned up in a tray outside? lucky or what.
Back to Oulton Park yesterday for a full days track thrashing, fantastic. The bike handles really well.
Only problem now is a fork seal has started to leak.

You are deffo very very lucky
I hope you have more luck than when my fork seal popped.
The inner bush slipped behind the outer bush and i had to cut the gold part to get the stanchion out.
Luckily i had a spare in the garage
