Hello......
after riding since 2000 and getting knocked off my R6 in 2000 I thought I'd given bikes up
unfortunatley I was persuaded to go on a track day and used a mates ZX6R......I loved it!!!!
I wasn't used to the track day riding style as I've always been on the road so no knee down and hoooning to 150mph, the ZX6 was a bit full on for my first track....
As a couple of mates have raced the ZXR400 they suggested I buy one as its low (I'm a shorty, I was supposed to ride a CBR600RR on the track day but I could hardly touch the floor) fast but big for a 400....
Just picked up a ZXR400 L1 for just over 700 quid with 18000 miles on the clock, all the MOTs since new and its even got the manual. Its been dyno'd to 62 bhp at the back wheel so the engine looks healthy and rides good.
Also picked up some flatslides which will be going on eBay to fund the rebuild and a Ram Air box which I've been advised to keep as there is good top end to be gained by it.
Needs a good clean up, a top fairing and a seat unit.....now I'm wondering should I keep it as a track bike or take it out on the road.....decisions, decisions.......
and if anyone wants some flatslides, offers over £350....they will be on eBay next week.
Cheers

Re: Hello all
Why not put a daylight MOT on it so you don't have to bother with buying headlights etc. That way you can use the flatslides with the ram air which is the best combination. My mate has a daylight MOT on his race bike so he can test it on the road, all it needs is a horn, speedo and rear reflector.

Re: Hello all
Have you have problems setting them up? Maybe i'm just lucky but as long as i balance them every couple of meetings they are fine. They would maybe be a bit of a handful on the road i suppose.
