Oil cooler
Hi i have a zxr400l race bike, my oil cooler is leaking and ive noticed that alot of racers run without the oil cooler, is it as simple as just blanking it off? cheers leon.

Re: Oil cooler
I thought about that but then the bike is always moving.

Re: Oil cooler
I don't really know what the oil flows through the engine are, but if it's pumped through the cooler you probably want to link the two pipes together rather than blank them off, so you still get some flow to whatever's downstream of the cooler.

Re: Oil cooler
Well ive put 100 miles on my motor with no oil cooler and it seems to be fine, all i done was cut the pipes and weld the ends up.

Re: Oil cooler
I've got a weep on mine as the front tyre keeps hitting it under heavy braking. Dont particuarly fancy racing without one so will probably try to relocate with a replacement cooler.
